Installing
How do I install Easy Reminder?
- Get
EasyReminderSetup.exeonto the PC (download, USB stick, network share…). - Double-click it and click Install. No administrator rights are needed.
- Look for the red pushpin next to the clock in the taskbar. That’s Easy Reminder.
Already installed? Running the same setup again updates it in place and keeps your reminders.
I can’t find the red pin on Windows 11
Windows 11 often tucks new tray icons behind the ^ arrow next to the clock. Click the arrow, find the red pin, and drag it onto the taskbar so it always stays in view.
Windows says “Windows protected your PC”
That’s Windows SmartScreen. It appears for new apps that aren’t code-signed yet, including Easy Reminder. Click More info, then Run anyway.
My antivirus flagged the installer
Some antivirus products (VIPRE, for example) flag unsigned programs with a generic “heuristic” warning. It’s a false positive: Easy Reminder contains nothing harmful. You can allow the file, and if you tell us which product flagged it, we can report it to that vendor as a false positive.
What do I need to run it?
Windows 10 (version 1903 or later) or Windows 11. Nothing else to install. It installs per Windows user account: each person who signs in to a PC installs it for themselves.
Trial & license
How does the free trial work?
Easy Reminder is free to try for 14 days from the first time it runs on each PC. Every feature works during the trial.
My trial ended. Are my reminders gone?
No. After the trial, reminders stop popping up until a license key is entered, but they’re kept and never deleted. Clicking the pin shows “Your free trial has ended” with Buy… and Enter license key.
The moment you activate a key, anything that came due in the meantime pops up, marked “Missed”.
How do I enter my license key?
Right-click the red pin and choose Buy or enter license key… (or open Settings → License), paste your key and activate it. You need an internet connection for that one step.
The License page shows who the key is licensed to and how many PCs it’s using.
How many PCs can I use one license on?
The standard license covers up to 3 PCs. There’s also a single-PC license if you only need it on one. Need more than your license allows? Use Settings → License → Add a PC… to add one for $9.
I got a new PC. How do I move my license?
- On the old PC, open Settings → License and click Deactivate…. That frees its slot and copies your key to the clipboard.
- Install Easy Reminder on the new PC and enter the key in Settings → License.
Old PC broke or is gone, so you can’t deactivate it? Contact support with your key and we’ll free up the slot.
I reinstalled Windows or Easy Reminder. Do I lose my license?
Uninstalling and reinstalling Easy Reminder keeps the license (and the trial clock), and doesn’t use up another PC. If you wiped or reinstalled Windows itself, just enter your key again; if it says you’re out of PCs, contact support.
Is it a subscription?
No. It’s a one-time purchase: pay once, keep it. No renewals.
Can my team share one license?
Yes. A Team license is one key for 10 or 25 PCs ($99 or $199, lifetime). Give everyone the same key, and each PC uses one of the license’s spots when it’s activated.
When someone leaves or gets a new PC, open Settings → License on the old PC and click Deactivate to free its spot. If that PC is gone, contact us and we’ll free it for you. Need more than 25 PCs? Ask us for a quote. IT teams can install and license every PC in one step: see For IT teams.
Using Easy Reminder
How do I set a reminder?
Click the red pin by the clock, type what to remember, optionally add a why (a note shown on the pop-up), then say when. Type it in plain English (in 3 weeks, fri 2pm, the third Friday in March, tomorrow morning), tap a quick pick, or use the date and time fields. The card shows exactly what it understood before you save.
Turn on Repeat for daily, weekdays, weekly, monthly, yearly or hourly reminders.
Why can’t I close the reminder?
That’s on purpose: a reminder that can disappear is one you can miss. The only ways out are Acknowledge or Snooze (15 min, 30 min, or Other… to pick any time). It stays on top of every window, even through Alt+F4. It also doesn’t steal your keyboard, so it never swallows what you’re typing.
Can it make a sound, or keep reminding me?
Yes. In Settings → Sound, turn sound on, pick any Windows sound (including the Alarm tones) and press Play to hear it. You can have it chime again every 1, 5 or 15 minutes until you acknowledge.
Can I change where pop-ups appear, or the snooze buttons?
- Pop-ups & times: show reminders in the center, at the top, or near the clock; set the time used when you type a date without one; and decide what “morning”, “afternoon”, “evening” and “night” mean.
- Quick picks & snooze: change the card’s three quick picks and the pop-up’s two snooze buttons (type things like “15 min”, “1 hour”, “90”, “2 days”).
- General: text size, and whether it starts when you sign in.
Changes save automatically. Reset to defaults puts every setting back without touching your reminders.
The text is too small
Click a A 𝐀 on the reminder card, or use Settings → General. There are three sizes, and your choice is remembered.
My PC was off when a reminder was due
It pops up as soon as Easy Reminder starts again, marked “Missed”, so nothing slips through.
Can a reminder repeat every 2 weeks, or every 3 days?
Yes (version 2.5.0 or later). Turn on Repeat, choose Custom…, and set Every to a number of hours, days, weeks, months or years: every 2 weeks, every 3 days, every 6 months.
Or just type it in When: “every other friday 3pm”, “every 2 weeks”, “biweekly”, “every 3 days at 9am”, “every month on the 15th”, “quarterly”, “weekdays at 8:30”. Easy Reminder switches Repeat on to match and shows when it starts.
Your data & privacy
Where are my reminders stored?
In a small file on your own PC (%LocalAppData%\Easy Reminder). They never leave the PC. Settings → Data → Open folder takes you there.
How do I back up or move my reminders?
In Settings → Data, choose Back up… to save your reminders to a file, and Restore… on any PC to bring them back. Reminders aren’t synced between PCs automatically.
Does Easy Reminder use the internet?
Only for your license: activating or deactivating a key, plus a quiet check about once a month. There are no accounts and no telemetry, and your reminders are never sent anywhere. Being offline never takes your license away.
Uninstalling
How do I uninstall it?
Go to Settings → Apps → Easy Reminder → Uninstall (or run Uninstall.exe in %LocalAppData%\Programs\Easy Reminder). You’ll be asked whether to also delete your saved reminders. Your license stays with the PC, so reinstalling later won’t use up another PC.
For IT teams
Can I install it silently on many PCs?
Yes. It installs per user, without admin rights:
EasyReminderSetup.exe /S "%LocalAppData%\Programs\Easy Reminder\Uninstall.exe" /uninstall /S
To license it in the same step, add your key (version 2.5.0 or later):
EasyReminderSetup.exe /S /KEY=your-license-key
Easy Reminder activates the key the first time it starts with an internet connection, using one of the license’s PCs. If a PC is offline, it simply tries again later.
Exit codes: 0 success, 1 error, 2 cancelled. A silent uninstall keeps saved reminders.
Versions & updates
What’s the latest version, and what’s new?
The latest version is shown on our home page.
Which version do I have?
Open Easy Reminder’s Settings (right-click the red pin → Settings) and look at the bottom of the General page.
How do I update to the latest version?
Download the installer from easyreminder.click and run it. It updates Easy Reminder in place: your reminders, settings and license stay exactly as they are.
No answers match that. Try other words, or contact support.
